ALBAOLA

Pasai San Pedro

At the Sea Factory of the Basques Albaola we are building a replica of a 16th-century whaleship. This gallion is the only ship awarded with the patronage of the UNESCO in the world. Albaola is a shipyard-turned-into-a-museum, in which you can enjoy three spaces: an exhibition helping us understand the history of Basque whalers, the workshop where you can see live the traditional work of boatbuilders and the ongoing construction of the 28-meter-long San Juan whaleship. To make this experience even more unforgettable, visitors can reach Albaola by boat!
