Since 2012, the Enbaxadore Programme has publicly recognised the effort and dedication of professionals who – from different strategic areas for the city – have played a key role in organising top-tier conferences and congresses in Donostia / San Sebastián and Gipuzkoa. This initiative showcases the impact of their work on the city and on the province in economic terms, knowledge dissemination and international standing alike.

The programme also seeks to bolster the international and national outreach of San Sebastián as a conference and meeting destination, by driving sustainable growth in the number and quality of the professional events hosted by the city.

Being part of the programme means belonging to a key network of professionals attracting and organising leading conferences and congresses in Donostia / San Sebastián and Gipuzkoa.  The Enbaxadores, as the programme members are known, are top-tier figures who help to bolster our city’s reputation as a destination par excellence to host professional events.

Appointment as an Enbaxadore is for a 10-year period (from the award date). The period can be extended if the appointed professional actively takes part in organising new leading conferences or events, thus recognising their track record and ongoing commitment.

The Enbaxadore Programme includes taking part in: 

– The annual appointment ceremony, where the new Enbaxadores are publicly recognised.
– Networking meetings and social events that foster cooperation, sharing experiences and creating synergies between professionals.

Apart from being a tribute, being an Enbaxadore is an opportunity to strengthen professional links, showcase the city internationally and contribute to bolstering San Sebastián’s image as a leading global destination to host congresses and professional events.
