Major congresses in Donostia / San Sebastian during the month of September

In September our city will be hosting a large number of congresses, many of them international events that focus on the science and technology sector.
2-6 | Quantum Phenomena in Multilayers and HeterostructurES (QPMH) -Miramar Palace
From the 2nd to the 6th of September, the Miramar Palace will be hosting about 200 professionals from the scientific and technical sector to explore the latest advances in quantum phenomena.
This congress is organised by the Donostia International Physics Centre – DIPC.
5-6 | Biocatalysis Congress (SEBIOT) - Aquarium
The SEBiot Applied Biocatalysis Group, in collaboration with CICbiomaGUNE, has organised the fourth Spanish Biocatalysis Congress, which will be held at the Donostia / San Sebastián Aquarium on the 5th and 6th of September.
The event aims to share the latest trends in the use of enzymes for chemical applications and to promote the development of biocatalysis in industry through a dialogue with the business sector.
The scientific programme is open to established research groups, biotech companies and pre- and postdoctoral students.
About 160 people are expected to attend this event.
6-7 | TOP 100+ X MEDICAL LASER CONGRESS – Kursaal
The Top 100+ Medical Laser Congress, organised by Reference Medical, is an annual event, held since its inception in Donostia, that brings together the most important experts and users of lasers and other advanced technologies in dermatology and aesthetic medicine.
This tenth congress is intended to be a space for the exchange of knowledge in which internationally renowned speakers will present the latest scientific innovations in the field of laser technology.
6 – 8 | Sportjam Surftest - Kursaal
The Sportjam Surftest is considered to be one of the major surf, skate and urban culture events in the North of Spain, and provides free access for the general public.
From the 6th to the 8th of September, the very latest innovations in the surf and skate market can be tried out on the terraces at the Kursaal, and you can also enjoy workshops, live music and food trucks.
9 – 11 | Challenges in Chemical Sensing with Graphene Derivatives and 2D Materials (SENSE) - Miramar Palace
The SENSE workshop will be bringing together at the Miramar Palace specialists in chemical sensing using 2D materials and Graphene derivatives, aimed at achieving an effective implementation of these materials in functional sensing devices and systems.
The workshop aims to encourage the exchange of knowledge and ideas among participants from various disciplines, such as chemistry, physics and engineering.
It is supported by the Ministry of Science and Innovation (MCIN), the European Union and the State Research Agency (AEI).
18 – 20 | XI International Digital Health Congress - Miramar Palace
From Wednesday the 18th to Friday the 20th of September the XI International Digital Health Congress , which has been taking place since its beginning in our city, will be held at the Miramar Palace in Donostia / San Sebastián, with the option of taking part not only in person but also online.
Under the slogan, “Transforming care with AI”, the congress will aim to analyse whether the current context meets the present and future needs of the health ecosystem. This event forms part of the University of the Basque Country summer courses.
