Donostia, a hub of scientific and cultural knowledge in September
- 2025 Sep 01
Donostia / San Sebastián is preparing for a month of intense activity in September, hosting a variety of conferences and events that consolidate the city as a meeting point for innovation and the exchange of knowledge. These include gatherings on physics, digital health, the adhesive industry, and, of course, the prestigious San Sebastian International Film Festival.
The month kicks off with the Joint International Workshop on Hadron Structure and Spectroscopy (IWHSS 2025) and The QCD Structure of the Nucleon (QCD-N'25), which will take place from September 1 to 5 at the Carlos Santamaría Center of the EHU. Organized by the EHU Quantum Center, this event will bring together 80 participants. The main objective is to address recent advances in the study of the structure of nucleons and hadrons, as well as topics related to quantum chromodynamics. This congress also includes a special session to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the start of HERMES data taking.
From September 10 to 12, the Kursaal Congress Palace will be the venue for the European Adhesive & Sealant Conference and Expo (FEICA). Organized by the FEICA - Association of the European Adhesive & Sealant Industry, this event expects 600 participants. The conference is a key space for leaders in the adhesive and sealant sector to discuss sustainability, innovation, and new technologies, and seeks to position the industry as a driver for social transformation and the development of solutions that improve people's lives.
Later, from September 15 to 17, the Miramar Palace will host the XII International Congress on Digital Health. With 160 participants, this congress is held within the framework of the EHU Summer Courses and will focus on how information and communication technologies (ICT) can improve self-care, quality of care, and the efficiency of the healthcare system.
The month will be capped off by the 73rd San Sebastian International Film Festival - Zinemaldia, which will be held from September 19 to 27, primarily at the Kursaal Congress Palace. With an attendance of 5,300 participants in the industry sector, the festival reinforces its role as a meeting point for the transmission of knowledge. Activities such as masterclasses, roundtables, and meetings will be held to promote dialogue and generate opportunities for agreements and business for film professionals.
